Daniel Soprovich
Wildlife Consultant, Bluestem Wildlife Services
Summary of Experience:
Mr. Soprovich received his B.Sc. (1975) and his M.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Manitoba (1995). Since 1974 he has been working in research and management. Mr. Soprovich has conducted research for: Fort Whyte Nature Centre, University of Manitoba Delta Marsh Field Station, University of Manitoba Botany Department, Delta Water Fowl Research Station, Canadian Wildlife Services.
Mr. Soprovich worked as a population ecology biologist with Manitoba Natural Resources for approximately five years. During this time he evaluated the long-term data collection programs of the Manitoba Wildlife Branch. He also worked as an in-house consultant on study design, data analysis and interpretation.
Mr. Soprovich also worked as a wildlife biologist for Manitoba Natural Resources for four and half years. During this time he was a representative for all the regional wildlife personnel on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) charged with development of Manitoba HSI Models (for marten, black and white warbler, nashville warbler, ruby-crowned kinglet, moose, woodland caribou and others).
He is an ecologist and has worked as a wildlife consultant since 1996. Mr. Soprovich runs Bluestem Wildlife Services, a private wildlife consulting company. He has worked in a private consulting capacity on the Swampy Cree Tribal Council Traditional Land Use and Occupancy Study since 2001. Mr. Soprovich has been working as a consultant for Tolko Manitoba Inc. for the past two years. He has provided expertise on woodland caribou (landscape habitat plan for the Kississing-Naosap herd and analysis and direction on the issue of movement corridors) and other natural resources.
