Summary of Experience:
Ms. Anderson has a B.A. from Carlton College and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota. She is an attorney and also a college instructor.

Ms. Anderson is in her fourth term as State Senator. She was elected to Minnesota State Senate in 1992, and was re-elected in 1996, 2000, and 2002. She represents an urban district (Dist. 66) that includes the city of St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. She is the appointed Chair of the Senate Committee on Jobs, Energy and Community Development. She is also a member of the Commerce Committee.

Energy and the environment, jobs and economic development, and consumer protection are some of the special legislative concerns of Senator Anderson. She has authored and co-authored numerous energy related bills, including in relation to wind energy and externality costs of electric generation.

Presentation Area:
Ms. Anderson’s presentation will focus on the current and potential economy for wind energy in Minnesota. ( Minnesota imports energy from Manitoba Hydro.) Her presentation will be within the Guidelines for the JNFAAT Review as included in the public notice regarding the Wuskwatim hearings made by the CEC in January 2004.
