Summary of Experience:
Mr. Gilmore received his B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Northeastern Illinois (1975). He received his M.A. in Anthropology / Archeology (1985) from the University of Wisconsin. He has also received Cross Cultural / Aboriginal Education from the University of Alaska - Fairbanks (1982).
Mr. Gilmore’s expertise is in indigenous archeology and the identification and management of Traditional Cultural Property. He specializes in the application of GIS and remote sensing in archeology, and the development of indigenous research designs and protocols in archeology. Mr. Gilmore also advises on issues related to the protection of indigenous intellectual and cultural property rights and methods of consultation with indigenous communities.
Mr. Gilmore was a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Center -- Manitowoc in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology from 1986 to 1989, and was Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology from 1989 to 1991. He has taught courses in Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Cultural Resource Management. He has been a Cultural Resources Management Consultant for 20 years.
