CEC Ministerial References

Under Manitoba's Environment Act, the Minister of Conservation directs the Clean Environment Commission to hold public hearings regarding an 'environmental proposal' from a developer. These reference letters are supposed to include the terms for the hearings. The two letters regarding the Wuskwatim projects are posted here. Note: The Minister of Conservation changed, and two formal reviews, under different acts were combined. (never undertaken in Manitoba before)
  • January 22, 2002 - Letter from Minister of Conservation, Oscar Lathlin to Manitoba Clean Environment Commission Chairperson, Terry Duguid
  • April 25, 2003 - Letter from Minister of Conservation, Steve Ashton to Manitoba Clean Environment Commission Chairperson, Terry Duguid
